De aanhanger is gebouwd door een aantal Skeuvels<br \/>die een technische opleiding aan de UT doen. Van barbecue\u00ebn tot paaseieren zoeken, het kan allemaal. Zo leer jij de mede-Skeuvels nog beter kennen. De almanak staat vol met hilarische verhalen over de afgelopen vijf jaar binnen de Skeuvel. Weet jij nog iets wat echt niet mag ontbreken? Deze heuvel\/bergachtige omgeving is de ideale plek om jezelf eens lekker uit te leven op de fiets. In het pittoreske plaatsje Malmedy zal er overnacht en geleefd worden. Dit fietsweekend staat 100% garant voor flink afzien, regen, zonneschijn, mannen met hamers, mooie beklimmingen en afdalingen, maar bovenal voor gezelligheid. Het eerste feest is het seizoensopeningsfeest (SOF), ter ere van de opening van het schaatsseizoen. Het tweede feest is het Midwinterfeest (MWF), ter ere van het kampioenschap schaatsen voor alle studenten van Enschede. Op het taart-eet- feest (TEF) wordt het schaatsseizoen afgesloten. Omdat er dan nog een hele zomer volgt om hard te trainen hoeft er niet meer op de calorie\u00ebn gelet te worden. Het is dan ook elk jaar weer een feestelijk schransfestijn, al zien sommige taarten er zo mooi uit dat het bijna zonde is om ze op te eten. Daarom is het belangrijk dat deze mogelijkheid optimaal benut wordt. De GLIJcommissie bedenkt mogelijkheden om dat te bereiken. Er wordt dan een plan opgesteld hoe de Skeuvel zich gaat presenteren gedurende de introductie, bij welke onderdelen de vereniging aanwezig is en wat voor activiteiten Skeuvel zal gaan verzorgen op die dagen. Wij zijn echter gespecialiseerd in drie onderwerpen waarin wij uitblinken. Dit zijn namelijk zoals de afkorting OMA luidt:\u00a0 Onderhoud, Materiaal en Advies. Met name over schaatsen, skeelers, en fietsen.<\/p><p>Net zoals een echte oma kan je altijd bij ons terecht met bijvoorbeeld een emailtje naar oma@skeuvel.nl. Deze OMA gaat namelijk met haar tijd mee, en gaat de strijd tegen het digibetisme aan.<\/p><p>Normaal gesproken zou je bij je oma komen met een presentje om haar even lekker te verwennen. andere oma&#8217;s geef je dan vaak Orchidee\u00ebn, Hortensia&#8217;s of Geraniums. Hierdoor zorgen wij dat naast UT-studenten ook Saxion studenten ons leren kennen. Naast het promoten van D.S.V. de Skeuvel onder studenten, benaderen we ook bedrijven voor sponsoring. Een belangrijke taak, want dankzij de bijdrage van sponsoren kunnen we met zijn allen blijven schaatsen, de kwaliteit van onze trainingen waarborgen en gezellige activiteiten organiseren.<\/p><p>Ben jij creatief, ondernemend en wil je je gedurende het hele jaar inzetten voor D.S.V. de Skeuvel? Wellicht denk je daarom hier een stuk te vinden over hoe schaatsen werkt, dus hoe het ijscontact verloopt. Iets over het ontstaan van een dun laagje water onder je ijzer door wrijving en hoge druk. Het IJscontact waar het hier over gaat is namelijk het clubblad van de Skeuvel, ook wel kortweg IJsco genoemd. Dit clubblad verschijnt zo\u2019n zes maal per jaar en staat vol met verslagen van wedstrijden, zowel van deelnemers als van toeschouwers, uitslagen van Skeuvels, blunders en uiteraard ook dat andere ijscontact. Dit klinkt heel serieus en belangrijk, maar dat valt allemaal nog wel mee. In de Raad van Advies zitten een aantal leden die veel ervaring hebben met de club, bijvoorbeeld omdat ze vroeger in het bestuur gezeten hebben. Het zittende bestuur kan de Raad van Advies, ja de naam zegt het al, om advies vragen. Deze raad heeft dus eigenlijk geen inspraak in het bestuur, maar kan ze wel een beetje op weg helpen met idee\u00ebn die vroeger ook al bedacht waren. Het toernooi werd sinds 1990 in Thialf georganiseerd, aan het einde van het schaatsseizoen in maart. Vroeger werd het toernooi georganiseerd in samenwerking met US-Schaatsen Amsterdam (nu Skits), maar sinds 2004 doet de Skeuvel het alleen. Sinds 2009 vindt het Skeuveltoernooi plaats op onze eigen ijbaan hier in Enschede; IJsbaan Twente. Het ijs doet hier niet onder voor Thialf.<\/p><p>Het is een Interuniversitair Toernooi (IUT), wat betekent dat alleen studenten aan het toernooi mee kunnen doen. Het unieke aan dit toernooi is dat het over twee dagen plaatsvindt en er gekozen kan worden tussen een allroundtoernooi en een sprinttoernooi, daarnaast is het ook mogelijk om \u00e9\u00e9n dag deel te nemen. Afhankelijk van de snelheid van de schaatser wordt hij\/zij in een categorie geplaatst en wordt het toernooi binnen deze categorie gereden. Snelle en minder snelle rijders zullen daarom nooit tegen elkaar rijden.
